Island Lonely

It sat there in grief; lonely in space,
Waiting for a neighbor or friend,
None did appear and lonely it stayed,
Day upon day it sulked in pity; waiting,
Waiting for the time of family and of love,
In darkness it sat, so pretty and sure;
In confusion did it live; all roses no play,
On waves it made drift; happiness complete,
Was lost to it there; understanding eyes,
Made quick race, and mountains divide,
This most open of hearts could find.
