Dice of Fate

In childhood we raced to see the winner,
We hoped each would be victorious supreme,
But sadly there was only one victor in game,
Every roll was silly every throw was plotted.

In that time of reckless total adolescence,
We played those games, games of luck and fate,
Games of money and coin, we hoped to take the
Pot, the cash was at my greedy young fingertips.

In that sweat of eye I was worried and for good
And solid reason for luck had forsaken me and
All youthful fortune had been lost, it had been
Lost to thinker older then I and much luckier.
